The group from Wapakoneta City Schools had a great time at the parade last night! Thank you to everyone who came out to take part, and also to the other school groups that supported the event. It was a lot of fun! Go Redskins!

Recently, BGSU’s Van Wright volunteered his time to speak with students at WHS and reinforce the importance of setting goals and showing up on success in life. He reminded students that the path to goal achievement is not always a straight line. You may have to zig then zag. Persistance and showing up for yourself and others is key! Thanks for #showingup for WHS and the Wapak community, Van!

Parents,
This is a reminder that we have a 2 hour delay tomorrow, October 23 for professional development.

It was an outstanding performance by our marching band last night! So proud of our kids and our band directors. A lot of hard work has been put in over the last few months. Thank you senior band members for your dedication! Also, thank you to our student section for cheering on your classmates. #bebetter #showup

Tegan Frimering was honored as a captain at the BGSU football game this past weekend. Her helmet design was chosen by the University and worn by the defense during the game. This was a huge honor for Tegan, the Friemerings, and we are proud to see her represent our school system!

Bus 2 and Bus 8 are currently running approximately 30 minutes behind due to an unexpected delay/construction they encountered this morning.
Thank you for your understanding.

Parents,
Over the next few weeks our school buses will be doing emergency evacuation drills with the students. Please be aware that the buses could be running about 5-10 minutes late at the end of the day.

Parents,
We have been made aware of a rumor of a threat that took place at a local district earlier this week. There have been phone calls and questions about this threat and if there is any credible threat towards our school buildings. I want to assure you that there is not, but we have made our local police aware of the issue, our resource officers are aware, and we are taking all necessary precautions at the school buildings. This includes more police presence on our school campus. I can assure you that we always do everything we can to keep all of our kids safe.
Sincerely,
Aaron Rex

Wapakoneta City Schools speech pathologists had a great opportunity to attend a professional development day that focused on building collaborative teams and practices. They also participated in small group Q&A with other professionals and trainers in the field.

As you may be aware, there are a number of road closings and railroad crossings under construction in our community. For these reasons, our school buses may be running a few minutes behind schedule as they have to adjust their routes.
Thank you for your understanding.
Aaron Rex
