I had the please of spending time with our 8th grade band students today. Mr. Wimmers and Mr. Schneider have been working hard with this group and the results are definitely showing.

Creative works from Ohio art students in grades K through 8 were on display at The King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio. This multimedia exhibit, sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association, highlighted Youth Art Month which is a national
celebration sponsored by The Council for Art Education.
The annual celebration, which typically takes place in March, emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs in Ohio schools.
Students from eight regions of Ohio are represented in both the Young People’s Art
Exhibition and the Youth Art Month Exhibit. The exhibits boast 118 works of art by our young Ohio artists!
Scarlet Patton and Elliana Long were among those whose artwork was chosen for this prestigious event. Scarlet and Elliana , seventh grade students from Wapakoneta MIddle School, were recognized at a reception on March 2, 2024. They received certificates of accomplishment and art supplies to further their art exploration.

It was so much fun walking into Mr. Sammons class today and seeing his Biology students playing a card game that teaches them about DNA and replication. They were having fun and learning all in the same time.

I am always amazed at the quality of music our band kids perform during concerts but most people don't get the chance to see all the hard work and teaching that goes into that music. I had the luxury of observing the Concert Band and Mr. Schneider today working on this process.
