Please help us welcome Michelle Porter to the WCS family!
Michelle brings over 30 years of experience working with children in a variety of roles, including the past two years with the Auglaize County ESC. A 1993 graduate of Shawnee High School, Michelle has deep ties to Cridersville Elementary—where all of her own children attended—making this new role especially meaningful for her and her family. Known for her flexibility and easygoing nature, Michelle is excited to officially join the team at CES and continue making a positive impact in a place that holds a special place in her heart.

We’re excited to welcome Melanie Davidson to Wapakoneta High School!
Melanie brings nearly two decades of experience from the Auglaize County ESC, where she served as a one-on-one paraeducator supporting students with special needs. She’ll continue that meaningful work here at Wapakoneta High School, transitioning alongside the student she currently supports.
A proud graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School, Melanie still resides in her hometown of Waynesfield. When she’s not working, she enjoys fishing with her husband and daughters, spending time with her daughter Ashley and her grandson, and cheering on her daughter Andrea at Special Olympics bowling events. We’re thrilled to have Melanie on the WCS team and can’t wait to see the difference she’ll continue to make! 🎳🎣📘

We’re excited to welcome Summer McCloskey as a new Intervention Specialist at Wapakoneta Elementary School!
Originally from Harrod, OH, Summer is a 2019 graduate of Allen East High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bluffton University in 2023. She brings two years of experience from Allen East Local Schools—first as a classroom aide, then in her first year as an Intervention Specialist. Outside of school, Summer enjoys spending time with her 3-year-old Huskimo, Luna! 🐾 She’s most excited to grow both professionally and personally within Wapakoneta City Schools, connect with a new team of educators, and contribute to student success.

We’re excited to introduce Mrs. Kimberly Newfer as one of the newest members of our teaching team! With a career in education that began in 1996 as an educational aide and a teaching license earned in 2011, Mrs. Newfer brings years of experience, passion, and dedication to the classroom. She is a proud graduate of Allen East and Apollo and earned her Master of Education degree from Wright State University. Originally from Lafayette, she now lives in Shawnee with her family.
Outside of school, Mrs. Newfer is a proud wife, mom, and “Mimi” to her granddaughter. She enjoys spending time with her family (and their Goldendoodle, Scottie!), exploring Ohio towns, reading, traveling—especially to the coast—and creating engaging classroom materials.
Mrs. Newfer is most excited to join a district that values community and inclusivity and looks forward to supporting student success both academically and personally.

Please help us welcome Victoria Sharp to the Wapak team!
Victoria has spent the last four years working in schools across Auglaize County, with much of that time right here in Wapakoneta City Schools. A 2015 graduate of Apollo and Wapakoneta High School, she’s excited to return to the very school district that helped shape her. In her free time, Victoria enjoys crocheting, reading, and spending quality time with her family—including her two children who keep her busy and smiling!
She’s thrilled to officially join the WCS family and give back to the community that raised her. Welcome home, Victoria! ❤️📘✨

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Ann Vogel to the WCS team!
A proud Wapakoneta High School graduate, Ann has spent the last 17 years serving students through the Auglaize County ESC. This fall, she officially joins Wapakoneta City Schools to continue her important work with the special education program at Wapakoneta High School.
Ann lives in the country outside of St. Marys with her husband Jeff and is the proud mom of four boys. These days, she especially loves being “Grandma” to her granddaughter, Lennon, grandson, Von—and is eagerly awaiting a new grandbaby arriving in October!
We’re thrilled to have her officially on board and know she’ll continue to make a difference in the lives of our students.

Please help us welcome Alysha Kroeger to Wapakoneta City Schools!
Alysha joins us after 12 years of serving as a K–3 Intervention Specialist at Sidney City Schools. She is a graduate of Troy High School and earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University.
Alysha enjoys running and can often be spotted jogging around Wapakoneta—so don’t forget to wave if you see her!
She’s especially excited to join Wapak City Schools this year as her oldest child begins at Wapak Elementary in the fall. “I’m looking forward to having a larger impact in the community and being part of the same district as my son.”

Please help us welcome Abby Wood to the Wapakoneta High School Counseling Team!
Abby comes to WHS with five years of experience as a school counselor at Shawnee High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in 2017 and completed her master’s degree in 2019 at Malone University.
Originally from the small town of Malvern, Ohio, Abby grew up with strong community values that she now brings to her work with students and families.
She enjoys reading, going to the movies, watching sports, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and fiancé.
Abby has called Wapakoneta home for the past five years and is excited to officially join the WHS team. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to a place I’m proud to now call home.”

Join us in welcoming Jackie Montague to Cridersville Elementary!
A 2005 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and proud hometown native, Jackie spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mom before stepping into the classroom as a substitute earlier this year—and instantly fell in love with it!
She enjoys playing video games, is an avid reader, and recently taught herself how to crochet.
Now officially joining the CES team, she’s excited to help bring kindness, compassion, and support to our students each day. “I want to help ensure every child has a bright future!”
