Wapakoneta City Schools will be operating on a two hour delay on Friday, March 15. We have some residents still without power, there are rural roads closed, and sunlight will allow for people to navigate roads that may have water/debris. Please keep our families who lost their homes in your prayers. Also those in other communities such as St. Marys and Indian Lake.

One of our high school Spanish teachers, Alexis Blum will be presenting at the Central States Languages for All Regional Conference on Saturday, March 16th, representing Ohio and the Ohio Foreign Language Association. Her session, "Let Me Try!" was voted by fellow OFLA members as the "Best of Ohio" at the conference held this past summer. Alexis will present on instructional activities, methods, and assessment of upper level language learners (levels 3, 4, and beyond). We are proud of Alexis and all of our outstanding staff members at WCS!

Creative works from Ohio art students in grades K through 8 were on display at The King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio. This multimedia exhibit, sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association, highlighted Youth Art Month which is a national celebration sponsored by The Council for Art Education. The annual celebration, which typically takes place in March, emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs in Ohio schools. Students from eight regions of Ohio are represented in both the Young People’s Art Exhibition and the Youth Art Month Exhibit. The exhibits boast 118 works of art by our young Ohio artists! Scarlet Patton and Elliana Long were among those whose artwork was chosen for this prestigious event. Scarlet and Elliana , seventh grade students from Wapakoneta MIddle School, were recognized at a reception on March 2, 2024. They received certificates of accomplishment and art supplies to further their art exploration.

It was so much fun walking into Mr. Sammons class today and seeing his Biology students playing a card game that teaches them about DNA and replication. They were having fun and learning all in the same time.
