As you are aware, a Solar Eclipse will be taking place on April 8 this year. We are expecting a great deal of visitors and traffic in Wapakoneta, and the surrounding area. The path of the eclipse passes over our community in the early afternoon near our dismissal time. Due to this we will not be having school that day. Our teachers will be planning learning activities that involve the eclipse and will share these with our young people as the date approaches. Our goal is for the kids to experience the eclipse, provide fun/meaningful learning activities, and to keep them at home and away from the congestion. The district has been in communication with other school districts and the local agencies to make sure we are all on the same page when it comes to planning for April 8. If you have questions please reach out to me. Sincerely, Aaron Rex

The Wapakoneta Police Department and the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office partnered with the Wapakoneta Internship Program to create a criminal justice program. Alex Lewis is our first student to go through the program. Alex went to the YMCA to take the pre-fitness test requirement to get into a police academy.

The Wapakoneta High School Aviation Class toured the Neil Armstrong Airport today. Thanks to airport manager, Ted Bergstrom, the class learned about many careers in aviation. We also got to see several different airplanes and hear about their maintenance and technology.
